ABOUT COLLEGE

Sir Parashurambhau College (SP College), Pune 
was established in 1916 as new Poona College at the hands of the British Governor Lord Willingdon.The college was renamed as Sir Parashurambhau College as a mark of gratitude towards the Rajasaheb of Jamkhindi state who donated a handsome amount of Rs. Two lakhs in the memory of his father. The college started offering courses in Arts faculty from 1916, in Science from 1927 and in Commerce from 1976. The junior college in all three faculties was added in 1976.
Their Vision is to evolve as a dynamic centre of higher education disseminating knowledge rigorously at affordable cost and to emerge as a premier centre that promotes technological competence and democratic values. With inspiration from Hon. Shri Vishnushastri Chiplunkar they are serving the country through quality education.
