Sikkim Manipal University (SMU) is the result of a unique partnership between the Government of Sikkim and Manipal Education and Medical Group. It commenced offering quality Programs in Distance Education in 2001 by setting up the Sikkim Manipal University - Directorate of Distance Education (SMU-DE).SMU-DE over the years has earned the status of a leading Distance Education provider of the country, with over 4 lakh students having graduated in its wide variety of Programs. It currently offers Programs in the streams of Management and Information Technology.The UGC Approved and industry-oriented Programs of SMU-DE help students land dream jobs, launch careers and boost confidence.In its endeavour to serve the students, SMU-DE has consistently raised standards in Distance Education, thus getting recognised by Government and industry bodies alike.
