ABOUT COLLEGE
Maharashtra Technical Education Society was formed in 1945. It is a brainchild of a dynamic entrepreneur, great visionary & freedom lighter late Dhondo Krishna alias Dhondumama Sathe. On the eve of independence he was geared up to provide advanced educational facilities with a focus to build nation .In 1947 he established New Engineering College at Sangli which was the first private Engineering College in India. Also he stoned Atreya Ayurvedic Medical College & Agriculture Institute at that time. He was brain behind establishing Bank of Maharashtra. He was one of the main contributors in all the sectors like Finance, Engineering, Medicine & Agriculture.
