ABOUT COLLEGE
The reputed Poona Gujrati Kelwani Mandal is the Parent body of H.V.Desai College. The society started the college with the aim of imparting education to the local less literate trading Gujrati community 25 years ago.Today H.V.Desai College is a Premier institution in Pune catering to the all the communities in Pune. It has an excellent academic and structural infrastructure. The College has got its name from the reputed Desai’s who have their hall mark in the business and social community in Pune. H.V.Desai College that began in two rooms at the R.C.M school 25 years ago today holds an excellent centrally placed campus with highly qualified staff and infrastructural sound setup.The College caters traditional commerce, basic Science and Arts students aiming for their graduation. The college also has expanded with junior college for commerce and Science, B.Sc in Computer Science, BCA , BBA and MCS. H.V.Desai College alumni are increasing qualitatively and quantitatively from the traditional business sections to high profile research in the western countries. H.V.Desai College imparts education to nearly 3000 students. The composition of the students and the communities they come from represent the true cross section of the society.The college library has an excellent collection of books with separate reading hall facility. Spacious Shantaben sabhagriha, a spacious covered two tier parking, canteen facility, J.P. Trivedi open theatre, newly begun spardha Pariksha Kendra, well equipped science laboratories, computer laboratories, and commerce laboratory. The college keeps the student community engrossed in learning through academics, curricular, co-curricular, extra curricular activities, Research and social activities.
